Hotel proprietors in Anambra urged to deliver quality services

HOTEL owners in Anambra State have been enjoined to rebrand and offer worthy hospitality services to members of the public.

“You must seek to at all times constantly upgrade to meet global standards,”

 Gov. Willie Obiano made the demands, when some hotel owners accompanied him to inspect the ongoing construction of the International Conference Centre (ICC), at Agu Awka.

Gov. Obiano said with the inauguration of the ICC, Anambra, would become a hub for the hospitality industry, in addition to the huge investments that his administration would have attracted to the state.

The governor urged the contractor to deliver as scheduled, promising to complete all the signature projects in line with specifications.

He, however, promised prompt completion of the ICC, to host many national and international conferences on the cards and other activities that would boost the current economic drive of the state.

The traditional ruler of umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, an engineer, described the ICC as a legacy project designed in line with international best standards.

“The facility is sure to add to the growing infrastructure projects to further promote the rising image of the state.”

Igwe Emeka, who spoke on behalf of the hotel owners, promised to embrace the vision of the state, as well as consider ways to expand the franchises of their hotels.

Igwe Emeka operates one of the newly delivered Hilton Leisure Resort and Hotels, Awka.

Commissioner for Housing, Mr Mike Okonkwo, and an architect said Gov. Obiano had fully ordered materials that would always ensure quality services delivery.

Member, representing Dunukofia at the State’s House of Assembly, Mr Lawrence Ezeudu commended the government for laying the foundation on which the future of the state would solidly rest.

Mr Ezeudu, who observed that the project would transform the hospitality industry in the state, commended Gov. Obiano for quality construction in line with global standards.

The contractor, MrTu, promised to ensure prompt delivery, in accordance with specifications.
