Anambra has made quantum leap in 30 years – Udu, others

ANAMBRA State of Head of Service (HOS), Harry Udu, in his assessment of the journey so far stated that Anambra under the administration of Gov. Willie Obiano has moved the state to enviable heights. 

  According to Mr Udu, the International Cargo and Passenger  Airport, the International Conference Centre (ICC)  and the Awka Township Stadium projects are landmark legacy achievements that stand the state out among its counterparts in the country. 

  The HOS noted that having survived two recessions, the state under Gov. Obiano had consistently kept its economic profile buoyant and serviced its sectors beyond the imagination of some critics. 

  He commended the governor for keeping the civil service aglow with his consistent payment of their salaries as and when due. 

  Describing the civil service as the engine room of every government, Mr Udu expressed delight that in spite of the scarce financial resources at its disposal, the Obiano administration recently swore-in 11 new permanent secretaries to fortify the service. 

  “I expect the 11 perm secs to be above board in the discharge of their duties.” 

  One of the sworn-in permanent secretaries in the office of the Secretary to the government, Mrs Ndidi Onuigbo, in her own  reaction noted that there had been advancement of the state since its creation, especially under the  Obiano administration that has developed critical sectors of the state’s economy. 

  She pledged her commitment to justify her elevation in the development of the state.
