Churches should create employment avenues for members – Nnabuife

MANAGING Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Newspaper and Printing Corporation (ANPC), Chuka Nnabuife has called on churches to create avenues of employment for their congregation.

 Sir Nnabuife made this known while speaking at a lecture organised by Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, GRA, Awka, with the theme,  “Unemployment as a Catalyst for Insecurity in the Era of COVID-19: The Role of the Church”.

Nnabuife believes that the church is the right place one could nurture and learn different skills that could set up one in life. He maintained that most known musical artists and leaders started from the church. Nnabuife equally admonished church leadership to encourage communal living amongst their members as such living pattern, if rightly cultivated, could trigger employment and business opportunities.

Nnabuife, further, explained that the advent of COVID-19 necessitates that the church should strive to create opportunities as many lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic and they could be a ticking time bomb.
