New Rotary President, Nworji-Ekeh lauds ANPC, ABS for awareness creation

THE second female and 38th president of Rotary Club of Awka, Rtn Evelyn Ngozi Nworji Ekeh, has applaud Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation (ANPC), Publishers of National Light, Ka O Di Taa, Sportslight Xtra and Homeland newspapers and Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) for helping them in creating more awareness of the club.

  She stated this during the Installation and Award Ceremony of  Rotary Club of Awka, which was held at Hollywood Event Center, Awka, Anambra State,  and graced by family, friends and members of the Rotary Club.

  Mrs Nworji-Ekeh expressed gratitude to God for life and also the opportunity given to her as the president.” I thank my family, friends and members of the club for supporting me, and to the immediate past president, Rtn Nnadozie Blaize. I appreciate you and I will hold on to your robe as you will guide me in this journey of serving humanity from our stand. I also appreciate the past leaders of the club for the standard which you have raised the club and I promise to keep the light burning”.

  The past president of the club, Rtn Nnadozie Blaize said he was happy that he was the president and now handing over to the next president, Rtn Nworji Ekeh Evelyn. He further described Rotary Club as a voluntary organisation.  “We are now all over the world as givers. We have been able to change and touch many lives, in Rotary. You will have the opportunity of helping somebody who you will never meet or have the chance to say thanks and that is the joy of being in Rotary.

  Nnadozie also said that Rotary was at the forefront of polio elimination in the world and   “Rotary has recorded so much success to that effect because as at today, only two countries of the world has polio and very soon, polio will be eliminated from there and the world will be polio free all because of Rotar. I urged everyone to join the club”.

  Tobenna Obiano, MacAnthony Chimezie Okeke, Rtn Nwabufo Nwankwo and Chukwuemeka Umeh received awards during the occasion.
