No going back on Buhari’s Imo visit today – Uzodimma

Warns hoodlums to steer clear venues or get ready for trouble

ALL is set for President Muhammadu Buhari’s one-day visit to Imo State, today.

While arrangement for adequate security is already on ground both within and around the areas the president will have some stops as well as the entire state, elaborate provisions have also been made to accord Buhari a colourful reception.

Speaking at a news briefing in Owerri, yesterday, Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba said the state government and police as well as other security agencies are working round-the-clock to prevent any security breach during and after the visit.

Therefore, he warned any person or group nursing any intention to breach public peace and order to rethink or get ready for their waterloo.

Emelumba also called on law-abiding people of Imo State to come out en-masse and welcome the president, adding that kudos should go to Gov. Hope Uzodimma for making Buhari find time to come to Imo despite his tight schedules.

  According to him, highlights of the visit would include the president’s closed-door meeting with select leaders from the five states in South-East apart from inauguration of some projects completed by the state government.

  Emelumba listed the projects to include the first phase of Naze-Ihiagwa-Nekede Link Road, Egbeada Bypass and a balloon drainage system designed to check perennial flooding in Owerri.
