…Monarch marks Iwa ji, advises youths to shun land sales

TRADITIONAL ruler of Nteje, Igwe Rowland Odegbo has advised youths to shun land grabbing to ensure peace and better life for the people.

  Igwe Odegbo, whose joy knew no bounds for celebrating his 2021 Iwa ji,  at his Chinaemeze Palace, Nteje, in Oyi Local Government Area, explained that land sales and grabbing may expose people to hunger ,violence and threat of a long time in poverty.

The royal father hinted that land grabs can also increase the risk of food shortages and contribute to food insecurity.

Igwe Odegbo, who hinted that land sales and grabbing can hinder the traditional forms of agriculture also harped on the need for Nteje indigenes to live in peace with their neighbor’s and shun acts that could disrupt the polity.

He urged them to always be law abiding and  give their unalloyed support to Governor Willie Obiano led administration, saying that he had been tested and trusted.

In their separate speeches, the traditional rulers of Umueri ,Igwe Ben Emeka, Igwe Peter Uyanwa of Ukwulu, Igwe  Romanus Ilo of Nise, Igwe Joel Ekwuonwu of Umuawulu ,Igwe Nawgu ,Igwe Idigo of Aguleri , Igwe Peter Ezeamama of Enugu Umuoyia, Igwe Joseph Ajodo of Ukwalla and his Omasi counterpart, Igwe Benjamin Okeji, among others felicitated with Igwe Odegbo and wished him long life on the throne.
