Rotary Club of Awka Central installs Iruka as new president

ANOHER record has been broken at Rotary Club of Awka Central, Zone 12, District 9142 Nigeria, during the installation ceremony of their new Visionary President, Rotarian Onyekachi Iruka at Hilton Leisure Hotel, Awka.

  While handing over the mantle of leadership, the past president of the club, Rotarian Timothy Nwabunwanne urged the new president to exhibit good morals and selfless services to humanity and also called on members to give him their utmost supports.

  In his inaugural speech, Rtn Iruka assured that he would raise  the bar of the club and to consolidate on their past achievements.

  During the event, Presentation of awards were made to the Anambra State Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, the Anambra State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr Muhammadu Mishahu Idris, Former CMD COOUTH, the late Dr Basil Nwankwo, among others for their vocational, community and leadership excellence services.

  Other activities include the unveiling of their basic education and literacy project, a fully funded one year scholarship for a female child, one year maternal and child health care project and health insurance under the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency as well as the induction of seven new members into the club.

  The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Omenugha and the Anambra State Commander of the  National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr Muhammadu Idris commended Rotary members for their immense contribution towards building a better society and assured of continuous support and collaboration with them.

  The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Onyemaechi, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Health Insurance and Pension, Mr Dozie Okpalaugo encouraged the people to key into the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency while highlighting the enormous benefits of the scheme.

  The convener of Youth Earnestly Seek Soludo, Dr Nelson Omenugha, while addressing the gathering, noted that  Rotary is basically to encourage a better society through service, adding that it is worthy of emulation.

  The occasion was graced by men of goodwill in Rotary, Rotaractors and other guests.
