APGA may recall decamping Anambra lawmakers

ALL Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State will soon recall the six members of the state House of Assembly who recently defected from the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) if they personally do not vacate their seats and hand over all the party’s belongings under their possession to the party’s hierarchy in the state.

State Secretary of the Party, Sir Anthony Ifeanya, disclosed this recently while having a chat with the press in Awka.

He said, “we are not losing any sleep for we know how we helped them to get to the State House; they are there through our platform and as APGA honourable members. Therefore, as they have moved to APC, they should vacate their seats and return everything belonging to APGA to us. That is the position of the law; or if they refuse, soon we should start a process of recall.

Sir Ifeanya further revealed that the leadership of the party had been monitoring and observing the defectors and “found out that they were really determined to distort the leadership of APGA because of the interest of one man.

“But we thank God that they have finally come out in their true colour because there is no need of having moles in our ship for they will disappoint us at the long last”, he said.

He, however, enjoined the APGA faithful in the state to remain focused, expressing optimism that the defection of the lawmakers would not affect the party in any way as it concerns its victory in the forthcoming November 6 governorship election, pointing out that there is no alternative to the party’s flag bearer, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
