…Caught, paraded naked across town

TWO kins from Ndiatuobi Umuoma Village in Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, identified as one Emeka Obi and one Nneka Obi who were engaging in an incestuous relationship have been caught in the act in Emeka’s house.

A source from the village said though he is married with kids, he was having affair with Nneka, who is his cousin from same kindred.

According to the source, many people who got wind of the relation warned them to desist from such sacrilege but all the warnings fell on deaf ears.

“Instead of desisting from such act, Emeka rented a room in Amorka town for Nneka, where it would be easier for them to continue with their affair. But they did not know that youths of their village were trailing them. That’s how they were caught in the act while they were having sex in Emeka’s house in Ndiatuobi Umuoma Village,” the source said.

The source also said Emeka and Nneka were paraded round the community and other neighbouring communities naked with palm fronds on their necks, while masquerades and youths flogged them before they were brought to village square to cleanse the land from the sacrilege.

Many villagers have continued to condemn the act as highly abominable and despicable in their town.

One of them is Gilbert Ezeobi, who described it as “a sacrilege of the highest order” while wondering how two cousins could be sleeping with each other.

A woman who gave her name as Edith Emengini also condemned the act and said the two deserve to be banished from the community. She spoke in similar vein as

one Ebuka Ndudi, who said they got what they wanted.
