ANAMBRA State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has reiterated his call on ndi Anambra to go about their legitimate businesses on Monday and every other day in the state.

Gov. Obiano repeated the call during his visit to markets and public spaces  to monitor the safety of people in market places, yesterday.

Warning miscreants fomenting fear in the polity, under the guise of sit-at-home enforcement to desist from such illegal act, Gov. Obiano said that government cannot fold its arm and watch hoodlums derail socio-economic development of the state.

According to him, security agents are fast spreading their dragnets on those behind it.

Areas monitored by Gov. Obiano include banks along Zik’s Avenue and Enugu–Onitsha Expressway and Eke Awka Market where normal commercial activities were going on as motorists and other road users went about freely.

The governor also made stops at Afor-Igwe market, Umudioka and Oye-Agu market, Abagana, where socioeconomic activities were equally on top gear.

Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Uchenna Okafor, told the governor that the people heeded government’s directive by coming out to carry out their lawful businesses.

Many people expressed their confidence in the governor’s capacity to provide security all over the state, especially in the markets and other public places.
