Gunmen kill 300 level student of IMSU



THE remains of Kenneth Ibe, a 300 level Law Student Imo State University found by the road side where his abductors dumped it.

  The late Ibe, a front line youth leader in the state was reportedly kidnapped with his friend whose identity is yet to be ascertained while they were on their way to a wake keep at Ugiri, in Isiala Mbano LGA of state.

  The report said that while the other young man who was kidnapped with him escaped from the den of the kidnappers, the abductors felt aggrieved and killed Kenneth Ibe and dumped his body along Nkwo Mba, thereby causing ripples in the state .

  The youth leader’s death immediately sparked off writing competition among social media handlers to mourn Ibe, who they said played a prominent role in the students’ activism and in   National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) politics.

  Ibe’s brother, Felix Nwafor, who has been grieved while mourning him has asked security agents to intensify effort to arrest the killers of Ibe Kenneth and give them appropriate punishment they deserve.

  Another youth leader, Onyelike Darlington, who said that the death of Kenneth had opened a wound that will be difficult to heal said that there was an end for every mortal and bid his friend farewell. He added that though Ibe’s death was sudden but those who killed him will not go unpunished if not here on earth, before the Lord.

  When contacted, the public relations officer of IMSU, Sir Ralph Obi Njoku said that the report of the incident was just getting to him on phone. He berated the rate of kidnapping in the state, especially in Isiala Mbano axis.

  The wife of former Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Prof. Ossy Nebo was kidnapped in the same area in the last two months.

  When contacted, the PPRO of Imo State Police Command, Abatam Michael said he was yet to get the report formerly. He promised to brief the press the moment he gets full details of the incident.
