Enyi Comfort Edozie goes home amid testimonies of life

THE journey started 83 years ago by an illustrious and amiable Senior Mother ,Enyi Comfort Ozoemena Edozie ended on a graceful note as family members and friends shared testimonies of her good life on earth.

Mama Afam, as she was popularly called, an evangelist, a teacher and a disciplinarian gave a good account of herself during a well attended funeral service at Washington Memorial Grammar School, on Friday,  when people from all works of life came out to testify her good work on earth.

In a homily during the funeral service by the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, the Special Apostle, Fabian Nweke stated that man is just like flower which shines early in the morning but fades in the evening.

“Man has 70 years to stay but by Gods grace, 100 years and above. Mama has lived above 70 years. It is God’s grace. Judging from the testimonies you can testify that she lived a worthy life. She is a dedicated Christian and disciplinary. She worked without complaining in the vineyard”.

“Senior Mother Edozie was a true dedicated mother, peaceful and loving. I can see that peace radiate among the family members throughout the burial ceremony. This is a glaring testimony of a true mother”.

Speaking further, Apostle Nweke, whose message centered on repentance noted that the homily is for the living not for the dead, stressing that there is no repentance in the grave. “Every one living now has the opportunity to repent”.

He urged family members to keep the light burning, a legacy of their mother whom he described as a star and God’s friend.  “I am sure she is in heaven”.

Condoling members of the family, Managing Director of National Light Newspaper, Sir Chuka Nnabuife    in company of staff of the corporation, urged the family to take solace in the fact that there is another life, a dedicated and worthy Christian live. He urged them to imbibe the spirit of prayer, a legacy set by their mother, whom he described as an embodiment of peace.

Nnabuife commended Afam, Chibota and others for the befitting ceremony and prayed for the quick recovery of his staff, Mrs. Chibota, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident.

Highlights of the event include church services, music, dance by members of the church, sharing of testimonies by members of the public, cultural display and dance by different groups including the prestigious Otu Odu society Onitsha.
