IGBO socio-cultural group, Ohaneze, Vice President,  world-wide, Demian Okeke Ogene has called on electorate in Anambra State to ignore any call or insinuation aimed at stopping them from coming out en-mass to cast their vote on Saturday.

Chief Okeke Ogene made this call in Awka on Saturday, while speaking to National Light during the commissioning of Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport, Umueri.

“It is unfortunate that some elements are bent on destabilisng the process, but we must rise above any threat, go to polling centres and cast your vote. We will not allow those who scheme to benefit from truncating the process have their way,” Okeke Ogene said.

He warned that if election fails to hold in the state, there may be consequences that may not be in good taste for well-meaning citizens in Anambra State.

The government has assured the electorate of maximum security. They have followed this up with the deployment of  security personnel in their numbers. So, what is there to deny you the right to exercise your franchise? He advised that the heavy presence of security personnel is not to intimidate the electorate but to provide adequate protection for all.

Chief Ogene lauded the leaderships of former Governor Peter Obi and incumbent Governor, Willie Obiano for initiating the and successfully completing the project.

It will be recalled that Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport, Umueri was commissioned amidst fanfare.
