...Federal High Court affirms Soludo’s, Ibezim’s victory, awards them N2m damages

ANAMBRA State Governor-elect, Prof Charles Soludo’s qualification and victory in the recently concluded November 6 election have been upheld by the Federal High Court, Abuja.

  The court gave the order, yesterday, while dismissing the suit seeking Prof Soludo’s disqualification from the election on the allegation that he presented false information in Form EC9 to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during registration.

  Delivering his judgment, Justice Taiwo Oladipupo described the suit as frivolous, irritating and lacking in merit.

  Justice Oladipupo also awarded a punitive cost of N2 million against the two plaintiffs, directing same to be paid to Soludo and his deputy, Ibezim.

  It will be recalled that one Adindu Valentine and one Egwudike Chukwuebuka had in their suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/711/2021, sought to nullify Soludo’s election.
