Awka frontline baker opens new outlet



A POPULAR Awka-based baker and founder of G- Make Cake and Event, Chiamaka Osinem has launched her new shop, an outlet where different types of cakes are baked for all occasion, varieties of small chops and pastries, event coordination, training and surprise package.

  Speaking during the event held in Awka, a technologist from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Ikechukwu Oraka, while commending the young entrepreneur, noted that it was encouraging to see a young person that is hard-working and focused, rather than folding hands and waiting on government’s intervention.

  Continuing, Mr Oraka advised youth to always engage in self-development and things that will add value in the  society, as well as make a good living out from it. “I am impressed, and her bakery is top-notch. We try to encourage people to be employers of labour like this, instead of waiting for government or miracle to happen”.

  On her part, the mother of the host and a retired civil servant, Amaka Osinem, earlier in her speech, described her daughter as an enterprising, goal getter and determined lady, who always make efforts to keep updating herself with new trends in relation to the growth of her business. According to her, she has embarked on so many series of training and equally has tutored lots of students who are currently doing the business in their own accord.

  In her words, ” she has trained a lot of people, more than 50, if not up to a hundred. She has made lots of impact in the society and I pray that God will grant her desire and take her to greater heights by giving her the connections that she needs to excel.”

  One of the ex-students, Promise Ogbuevune, while sharing her experience during her training period, highlighted that the baker was homely, friendly and competent in teaching the art of baking; that she always made sure that all her students are carried along. She expressed hopec that the host will continue to excel and expand in her business and stressed on the need for people to have a skill in the contemporary society.

  Speaking in an interview with newsmen, Osinem, who is also the founder of a surprise company named ‘ First Class Company’s revealed that what inspired her to venture into cake baking was that while growing up, she also felt delighted cooking and has passion for baking, which led her to study Home Economics in the university and over the years, upgraded to being a professional baker.

Shes used the opportunity to show appreciation to family members, allies, customers and well wishers who supported and honoured her invitation.
