Yuletide: Anambra intensifies road decongestion, free traffic

AS PART of the efforts to ensure free movement on Anambra roads during the yuletide, government is intensifying road decongestion in urban centres.

  As part of activities line up for the exercise government has met with top commanders of the traffic management agencies in Anambra State to fashion out modalities on how to manage traffic on Anambra roads to enable ndi Anambra enjoy the season without challenges.

  In attendance were Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, Adeoye Irelewuyi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport, Emmanuel Udeakpe, Managing-Director Anambra Traffic Management Agency, Patrick Obiefuna, State Commander of Special Enforcement Team of Ministry of Transport, Chiejina Obieze, Representatives of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade, among others.

  Speaking during the meeting, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu assured government’s commitment to welfare of its citizens noted that palliative work will be done on most Anambra roads for enhanced easy movement.

  Also speaking, Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State Adewoye Irelewuyi and his counterpart from Anambra Traffic Management Agency (ATMA), Obiefuna said that the meeting will enable them synergize better for more effective operation.

  Commander of Special Enforcement Team of Ministry of Transport, Chiejina Obieze, also promised to work with other traffic management agencies to ensure free flow of traffic during this festive season.

  They called on the road users to always obey traffic rules and officers on duty as they will always be available at all the flashpoints to clear the roads.
