Double celebration as Odunukwe takes Ozo title, warms house



IT WAS a dream come true for Mr Ogochukwu Odunukwe, popularly known as Egoigwe, when he unveiled his new mansion and was  also  initiated  into the prestigious Ozo title of  Ngo Nnobi, Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

  The event capped  several months rigorous process of being initiated into the coveted class of titled men in Nnobi community.

  Ozo title holders, according to the community,  is reserved for true sons of the town who are known for their uprightness both in character and in their sources of livelihood.

  Speaking shortly after induction of Mr. Odunukwe as Ezisi Chinakueze, one of  the oldest members of the Ozo title holders in the community, Ezisi Eziokwu, explained that the process involved in taking the Ozo title takes  several months of  preparation that culminates into the “Igbaegwu Ozo” which is the last process where the candidate will be crowned as an Ezisi or Okpala and presented to the public.

  In his goodwill message, an illustrious son of the community, Chief Emeka Agbanari, CEO, Seaman Group said that Ozo title taking is a mark of respect showing a wealthy and fulfilled man who has excelled in all aspects of life and is willing to help in piloting the affairs of the community.

  He stressed that before a person will be allowed into this prestigious title, that he must possess some positive characters.     

  Mr Odunukwe, who wishes to be addressed as Ezisi Chinakueze said the preparation of Ozo title taking has made him pass through series of rigorous assessments from his childhood till date and as such, his presentation proves him as an upright person in his community.

  He maintained that the title is not giving to everybody , but outstanding sons of the community who have straight records.

  Egoigwe thanked God for giving him the grace and opportunity to take an Ozo title and  performing his housewarming the same day.

  Highpoints of the event was official unveiling of his new house , displaying of Ochie traditional music  for Odunukwe to dance for the first time  and many others.
