FRSC to mount speed monitoring devices in Anambra road

ANAMBRA State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Adeoye Irelewuyi, says his Command will remodel accident prevention approach in Anambra State this year.

  Irelewuyi gave the promise in Awka, today, while discussing their preparations for 2022.

  He also said that a new approach will be adopted to monitor minimum safety standards, especially for heavy duty trucks and articulated lorries, with heavy sanctions awaiting defaulting drivers.

  According to him, monitoring will be  made easy after the installation of speed limiting devices on commercial vehicles while radar guns will also be deployed to detect vehicles running above the prescribed speed.

  Explaining that the command had its fair share of setbacks last year, which affected both enforcement and relationships with the public, strategic collaboration with other agencies helped it to achieve massive results, Irelewuyi sought the cooperation of road users.
