The traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu has expressed confidence that the incoming Professor Chukwuma Soludo administration will transform the state infrastructurally and in all sectors of the economy.
Igwe Egwuonwu in a press statement in Umuawulu noted that the former CBN boss has the capacity, the goodwill and tenacity of purpose to turn around the fortunes of the state for the better.
The royal father asked that attention be given to development in the community which is part of the Awka Capital Territory in areas such as the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Amawbia- Nibo- Umuawulu- Awgbu Road, the Umuawulu-Amaetiti Road, the Umuawulu-Mbaukwu Road and checking the erosion problems in the community.
He paid glowing tribute to one of the resourceful Umuawulu philanthropists, High Chief Christopher Ndubuisi instrumental to the ongoing rehabilitation of some major roads in Umuawulu such as the ongoing Nibo-Umuawulu Road, the asphalted Okonkwo Nkala Road opposite the Umuawulu Micro finance bank, the asphalting of the Haba Bridge among others.
Igwe Egwuonwu thanked God for the gift of High chief Ndubuisi who has placed the community on the global map. The royal father used the forum to commiserate with the Okafor family from the Enugwu village Umuawulu on the death of their patriarch, Sir Godwin Okafor who was a philanthropist par excellence and a peace maker.
He prayed that his family members will imbibe the legacies of peace and philanthropy for which he was known for.
Igwe Egwuonwu, who was at the burial ceremony in the company of his Mbaukwu counterpart, Igwe Peter Anugwu paid condolence to the wife of the deceased, Lady Victoria Okafor and made some contacts with some of his sons, Mr. Cosmas Okafor, Rev Fr Kingsley Okafor and other family members.
