Pastor Maduakonam laid to rest in Okija



THE remains of the late Pastor Aloysius Obiano Maduakonam was recently laid to rest at his home town, Umuzu Village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State.

  Until his death, he was the brother to Josephine Maduakonam of Anambra  Newspapers and Printing Corporation, Awka.

  The burial, which was organised by the Peculiar Life Gospel Mission, Okija, in Ihiala Local Government Area, drew people from different walks of life to Okija town.

  The General Overseer, Peculiar Life Gospel Mission, Pastor Felix Nneji, in a sermon, said that death was inevitable to all living beings and  it can come at any time irrespective of age or position attained in life. “So, it is a debt that every person must pay depending on the time or year; so every person must answer the call.

  Pastor Nneji, who noted that the death of the late Pastor Maduakonam was a shock to everyone who knew him as death was the last thing expected at this time for him, maintained that the deceased took Christ as his Lord and Saviour and he never looked back until his death.

  Another officiating minister, Pastor Emmanuel Okemadu, General Overseer, Heartbeat of Christ Mission said that wealth of the world without Christ is zero, adding that every Christian should acquire wealth in life that will be acceptable in heaven.

  Meanwhile, the deceased junior brother, Mr Cosmas Ndubisi Maduakonam described his late elder brother as a brother indeed who cared for his siblings. According to him, “what I am today,  apart from God is through him. He is the one who made me what I am today.  My late brother took me to Sokoto when I was small and established my life.” He added that he will never forget his contributions in making him somebody both in spiritual and physical aspects of life.

  Moreover, Cosmas said that his late brother Aloysius was a man of truth, who stood on his words without looking back, gentle and humble in nature, and prayed that God will grant him eternal rest.

  Meanwhile, his only daughter, Helen Ogechukwu Maduakonam said that his father’s death was a surprise to her, recalling the discussion with him few days before his death, adding that she will not forget the training she learnt from the father, especially training her in the way of God and to embrace  God as Lord and savior.
