Obiano fetes security agencies, commanders

LAW enforcement agencies in Anambra state have been feted by Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano.

  The event took place in his country home at Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area over the weekend.

  Speaking in a welcome remark, Gov. Obiano rated the gallantry and professionalism of security agencies in the state so high in ensuring protection of life and property of citizens and people living and operating in the state. He also thanked them for their dedication to duty and professionalism.

  According to him, they demonstrate commitment in the service of their fatherland in exemplary way.

  Responding on behalf of other guests, Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng noted that the country is faced with security challenges ranging from terrorism, banditry, trafficking in arms, cybercrimes and other illicit activities, maintaining that the state is rated the safest because of the security architecture enthroned by Gov. Obiano, which he said has contributed in no small measure to discharging their jobs without fear or favor.

  It will be recalled that Gov. Obiano had earlier inspected the ongoing work at the Anambra International Convention Center, Awka where he was received by Commissioner for Housing, Mike Okonkwo as well as upgrade of facilities at the Umueri International Cargo and Passenger Airport.
