Ma Okonkwo laid to rest



IT WAS great occasion when family, friends and well-wishers gathered in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State to bid farewell to the late Caroline Okonkwo.

  Until her death, Ma Okonkwo who died at the age of 67, was a Philanthropist, woman leader and devoted Christian.

  Speaking with newsmen during the burial service, a Prince of Abagana community, in Njikoka LGA, Prince Paschal Ezekwe described the deceased as a woman with a heart of gold and charged the children to toe there mother’s step

  Prince Ezekwe maintained that death is a necessary end, which awaits all living souls. He stressed that the best way to immortalize the deceased is by sustaining her legacies.

  Chief Brandy Chiedu Nwatu while consoling the bereaved family asked the children to take solace in God for he is the only person that determines how long a person stays on the planet Earth.

  Chief Nwatu maintained that late Ma Okonkwo left a good the legacy for the children that made them become better members of the society.

  The first son of the deceased, Mr Chukwuma Okonkwo in his tribute, said that their mother was a community leader who never relented in helping the poor and oppressed.

  He further stated that their mother’s death is still a shock to him, stressing that she left when they needed her most, consoling himself with the fact that God knows the best time to take his creation.
