FRSC ready for Easter special patrol in Anambra

SECTOR Commander , the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi has said that the corps is gearing up for Easter special patrol in the state.

  The state FRSC boss, who spoke with our correspondent in his office in Awka, stated that the orps usually anticipated an increase in both human and vehicular movements during every festive period and according to him, special patrols are designed for those periods for effective traffic management.

  He said that the command was already making plans for the upsurge as it were during the 2021 Christmas and New Year festivities to enable the corps  to brace up for the challenges characteristic of the period, adding that the overall aim was to ensure free flow of traffic, reduce road traffic crashes and also arrange for prompt attention for victims of road traffic crashes.

  Irelewuyi, who said that the Easter season was already around the corner, admonished motorists in Anambra State to guard against over speeding, saying that in as much as speed thrills, it also kills. 

  He said FRSC had been engaging drivers at the motor parks, telling them the advantages of maintaining speed limits to stay alive for their families and loved ones; and that the corps had equally intensified enforcement on the installation of speed-limiting devices in all commercial vehicles.
