ANAMBRA State House of Assembly has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim on their successful inauguration.
The House passed the resolution following a motion of ‘Urgent Public Importance’ moved by Mr. Okechukwu Okoye representing Aguata II State Constituency during plenary on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the House, Mr. Uche Okafor who presided over the plenary expressed confidence that Gov. Soludo would replicate his achievements in the banking sector to the state.
The Speaker read out the motion to the House for adoption while the lawmakers unanimously adopted it through a voice vote.
Speaking on the motion, Mr. Okechukwu Okoye noted that Gov. Soludo massively won the Nov. 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, which was adjudged free, fair and credible by both the local and international election observers.
According to Okoye, Gov. Soludo came prepared as he has made six key appointments after his inauguration on March 17.
Okoye therefore described the appointments as a signal of a government that was determined to achieve the best for the good people of Anambra State.
The lawmakers that spoke in favour of the motion are the Majority Leader, Mr. Nnamdi Okafor, the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Paschal Agbodike, and Mr. Pete Ibida representing Njikoka II Constituency.
Others included Mr. Emmanuel Nwafor representing Orumba South Constituency, Mr. Obinna Emeneka representing Anambra East Constituency and Mr. John Nwokoye representing Awka North Constituency.
They described the emergence of Gov. Soludo and Dr. Ibezim as a prayer answered for ndi Anambra.
According to the lawmakers, Gov. Soludo is an economic guru who will employ his wealth of experience to pilot the affairs of the state.
They expressed appreciation to the governor for starting very well by visiting inmates in correctional centres across the state and areas in need of development.
The lawmakers urged Gov. Soludo to create an enabling environment for investments in the state even as they called on ndi Anambra in the diaspora to invest in Anambra State to guarantee rapid development of the state.
