THE Presiding Bishop, Life of Faith Gospel Assembly Ministries, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi LGA, Anambra State Rev. E.C. Obiorah has expressed joy for the successful inauguration of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachi Ibezim, praying that God would help him to be dedicated, purpose-driven and determined in the pursuit of his dreams, vision and noble aspirations towards the development of Anambra State . The bishop who stated this while fielding questions to journalists, urged the indigenes and residents of Anambra State to imbibe the gracious virtue of patience so that they would not mount unnecessary pressures and unrealistic expectations on the new administration, stressing the importance of uniting the people for development and not allowing denominational bias and unhealthy partisan politics to override important governance issues and public agenda of national significance.
While calling on Governor Soludo to deploy a formidable team of technocrats in the governance business, Rev Obiorah charged him to maintain broad-based consultations with the frontline founding fathers of faith comprising the Catholics, the Anglicans and the Pentecostals.
According to the cleric, “Anambra State needs practical problem- solvers to fix the seeming governance deficits. This formidable team must have been indisputably reputed for solving complex and complicated problems in the past. That is, they must have proven track record of performance either in the private or public sector of the national economy.
He advised the governor to create enabling environment and alternative electric power supply, stressing that Anambra can go into a public- private partnership with captains of local industries, leaders of religious bodies, owners of hotels, CEOs of Banks and international investors for the purpose of ensuring constant electricity supplies.
He urged the governor to ensure availability of jobs, noting that employment reduces exposure to all forms of criminalities perpetrated by the youths. “Once the rate of youth unemployment is drastically reduced, insecurity is indirectly minimized,” Rev Obiorah maintained.
Calling on wealthy Anambra indigenes in diaspora to form part of the international investors and develop the mindset of ‘Aku Luo Uno’ philosophy, Bishop Obiorah urged the Soludo administration to improve on the ease of doing business in Anambra State by removing multiple taxation policies, creating more spaces for car parks in markets, relocating street traders to better areas and embarking on the use of technological tools for improving revenue collection, controlling traffic gridlock in cities, towns and general insecurity in the state.
