Omasi Monarch urges better performance for Soludo’s administration

THE traditional ruler of Omasi, His Majesty Igwe Benjamin Okeji has urged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to use his wealth of experience as former Central Bank Governor and globe trotting vast economic experience to move Anambra State to enviable heights.

  Igwe Okeji in a press statement in Awka warned the governor to beware of sycophants and remain focused in addressing the myriads of challenges facing the state.

  According to the royal father’s blessings and expectations, Soludo’s administration will be prosperous and people oriented. He recalled that Soludo as the then CBN governor enlisted Anambra State as a member state in the nation’s food security programme with his Omasi Community getting its fair share of tractors.

  Igwe Okeji used the forum to request the governor to enhance the welfare of traditional rulers in the state with a view to upgrading their royal status to stand shoulder to shoulder with their counterparts in all parts of the country.

  On his part, the President General of the Omasi Town Union, Joseph Ifediegwu prayed for the success of the governor and expects that all hands will be on deck to support his efforts.

  Chief Ifediegwu warned him to be wary of desperate and dubious politicians who are experts in praise singing to feather their financial request. The president general called for the development of the excel farms in Omasi to enhance food security in the state.

  He further urged the national boundary commission to ensure the perfection of the demarcation of the Omasi-Adani-UvuluUkpata-Adaba boundaries for peaceful coexistence among the communities.

  In a related development the former Awka Zonal Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Izuchukwu Okeke urged Governor Soludo to aim at developing all sectors of the state economy.

  Dr. Okeke who felicitated with his colleague in the medical profession and state deputy governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim urged that urgent attention be given to the health sector in respect of improving the primary health care delivery system and giving a facelift to all the general hospitals in the state.

  The former NMA boss expects that the duo of Professor Soludo and Dr. Ibezim will live up to the high expectations of the electorate that voted them into power.
