For Nigeria, S’East, Anambra, Christians hold prayer session



IN LINE with the government’s directives, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Traditional Rulers and Clergymen across the South Eastern States of Nigeria, Christians including the Catholic faithful, Anglicans and Pentecostals as well as the traditional worshipers in Anambra State have conducted series of prayers for the speedy release of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu and for peace to remain both in Anambra State and entire Igbo land which will also mark the end of the Monday Sit-at-home in all the South Eastern States. 

  With this regard, It was observed that all the Catholic faithful at the Bishop A.K Obiefuna Retreat and Pastoral Centre, Okpuna Awka also participated in this one-day prayers as members were seen including little children performing a rosary procession in the church premises.  

  The Chaplaincy of the Church, Rev. Father Maximus Mmuojeke prayed for sustainable peace and unity in Igbo land especially Anambra State and urged Christians to remain in prayers even as they go to their various place of worship to pray for the peaceful release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu for a peaceful restoration of dignity in every So

  uth Eastern States and Nigeria at large.  He further asked God to grant eternal rest to those who have lost their lives in this period of trials and temptation and comfort their families. 

  Rev father Muojeke on behalf of the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Bishop of Awka Dioceses, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Clergymen and all the Catholic faithful plead for repentance among those who have been engaged to terrorise the state and entire Igbo land and let the grace of God redirect their mindset and footsteps towards meaningful achievements in their lives.
