ANAMBRA State Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will seek the assistance of the Anambra-born oil magnates, such as the Chairman, Board of Directors, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Senator Margery Okadigbo, Chief Arthur Eze, among others, to enable it to tap effectively the available mineral resources in the state.

The state Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Anthony Ifeanya, disclosed this while speaking with the press during a mini reception held in his honour at De Destination, Awka.

The commissioner also said that the ministry will get in a close touch with other critical stakeholders in oil and gas and engage in aggressive search of areas mineral deposits are been tapped in the state without the government’s knowledge.

His words, “we’ve in mind in getting in a close touch with our sister, Senator Margery Okadigbo, who’s the Chairman, NNPC Board of Directors, and all other oil magnates from Anambra such as Chief Arthur Eze, Chief Emeka Ofor, and so many others, so that they’ll help us to tap the mineral resources in the state.

“Also, we shall get in touch with the critical stakeholders in the ministry – those into oil and gas, the filling stations, the beaches where sand is drilled in the state.

“It’s our duty to ensure that the government gets into what it has not been getting in touch with, and to check touts and the excesses of those cheating the government; because some mineral resources are being tapped without the government knowing,” he noted.

The commissioner further explained that the ministry will interface with the federal government, assuring that he will explore all available possibilities to ensure that the virgin ministry works and promised to satisfy ndi-Anambra and Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for his confidence in him.

He thanked his family, his friends and well-wishers, for rejoicing with him and prayed God to remember them in their respective points of need.

Present at the mini reception, were Prophet Ejike Nwachukwu of the Rhema Deliverance Ministry; the worthy President, the Knights of St John, Awada Commandery, Sir Anthony Chukwumeziem; a former majority leader, Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Ayamelum State Constituency, Peter Onuora; the President General, Anaku Progressive Union, Mr Paul Nwuba, among other political associates.

Speaking with the press, Onuora wished the commissioner success, wisdom and divine guidance, urging him to run an inclusive administration and leave lasting footprints that will be a reference point in the ministry.

The lawmaker thanked Governor Soludo, for appointing Sir Ifeanya as commissioner, and advised him to replicate his mantra, Anambra-African Dubai, now it is a project.

Also, Sir Chukwumeziem and Mr Nwuba expressed total confidence in the commissioner to perform even better than any other commissioner having known him fully well, and prayed God to grant him wisdom and strength.

They also extend words of appreciation to Governor Soludo, for finding Ifeanya worthy to serve in his administration.
