2023: I’ll soon conclude my consultations – Jonathan

FORMER President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, said he would soon round off his consultations for the 2023 presidential election.

  Jonathan stated this while addressing supporters who stormed his private office in Abuja, today.

Specifically, he stated that he can’t tell them if he would be declaring or not for the 2023 presidential race yet.

  He said this while addressing a group of supporters including women and youths to his office in Abuja bearing inscriptions such as Goodluck Jonathan, you must run, we need you to restore Nigeria.

  “Yes you are calling me to come and declare for the next election, I cannot tell I’m declaring. The political process is ongoing just watch out. The key role you must play is that Nigeria must get somebody that will carry young people along,” he said.

This development comes after reports that campaign posters urging former President Goodluck Jonathan to join the 2023 presidential race at the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja. Similar posters were seen on the fences of many buildings on the Blantyre street leading to the APC Secretariat, further fueling speculations that Jonathan may be nursing an ambition to return to the Aso Rock Villa in 2023. It is however unclear, those behind the posters.
