GOVERNOR of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has described unity and honesty as an crucial necessity in team work.

Prof. Soludo made the explanation while opening the just concluded two-day retreat organised for executive council (exco) members, special advisers, permanent secretaries and top echelon of the new administration in International Convention Centre (ICC), Awka.

Urging participants to imbibe the two values while going about their duties, Prof. Soludo explained them as integral components of teamwork which the governor further explained as his capacity building model.

Explaining the retreat as an indispensable forum to hone participants in nitty-gritty of their new posts, by putting them through the administration’s policy thrust, Gov. Soludo expressed confidence that it will prepare them to foster and build teamwork and unity of purpose among one another for overriding benefit of the people by be taking proactive decisions in ministries, departments and agencies (NDAs).

The governor also said the retreat will equip cabinet members who have no prior public service background with the rules and knowledge of public office.

 It will be recalled that the retreat was organised less than two weeks after Gov. Soludo inaugurated the new state executive council (exco) members alongside permanent secretaries.

In another development, Gov. Soludo has condoled with former governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife over the death of his wife, Mrs. Njideka Ezeife.

Speaking during his condolence visit to the Ezeife family at Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of the state, Soludo described Mrs. Ezeife’s death as a deep cut on fond memories.

He, therefore, urged her husband and other loved ones who she left behind to trust in God as they grapple with emotional setbacks.

Governor Soludo who on April 23, condoled with Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife and family prayed God to continue to grant the Ezeifes the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for the soul of the deceased to be granted eternal repose.
