Deaconess Ezeh returns home

By Emeka Chiaghanam

TO LIVE to make eternity, Christians have been urged to live a worthy life. Christianity is more than religion. It’s the way through Christ to God for bliss in eternity. Every Christian’s sojourn on earth should be Christ personified.

The Pastor-in-Charge of Living Faith Church, (Winners Chapel), Mbaukwu, Pastor Emeka Ezenwa, stated this during the funeral service for the late Deaconess Esther Ezeh at her husband’s compound at Ndiagu Village, Mbaukwu in Awka South, Local Government Area, Anambra State.

In his homily titled, “Whom do you live for”, Pastor Ezenwa admonished Christians to examine their lives to find out whether they reflect God’s expectations for their purpose on earth.

“You can’t live anyhow as a Christian. In secret and the open, your conduct must align with the dictates of God’s word. How well you please God determines your place in eternity.”

”Live not to please anyone but God. It is appointed once to die and after that judgment. Where to spend eternity should be paramount in every Christian’s life. God has more a beautiful place according to the gospel of John 14, where He anticipates everyone that lived for him,” he said.

In his tribute, Pastor Jeffrey Ezeh, husband of the late Deaconess said his marriage to his late wife was one of the best things that happened to him. ”You stood as the bright light in this dark world, illuminating the path to Jesus both home and abroad. You came as a shooting star whose love swept my feet and that of all who knew you,” he said.

In an emotion-laden voice, the first daughter of the deceased, Chidera Ezeh said she could not find words to express how she missed her mother who she described as a source of happiness to many people and godly as well as generous woman, who loved and treated everyone well.

“I miss your motherly advice. Your good heart is next to none, I miss your smile and laughter and your preaching every morning.”

The last born of the family, Esther Ezeh  said the sorrow of her mother’s death still lurks around her heart, further stating that it’s inexplicable how much she missed her mother.

“Mum, you lived a life that imparted Christ’s love to others, served God till death. Giving was your lifestyle, even when you had nothing.  A great evangelist who always preached God to everyone and everywhere you went. You had a forgiving heart. I will surely miss you.”
