Ex NBA boss, Nwegwu, others canvass better society

TRADITIONAL Prime Minister of Ebenebe, Joe Nwegwu has advocated peace, reconciliation and love among Christians in  society.

  Chief Nwegwu in a press statement, stressed that justice and fairness should be one of their guiding principles.

  He expects that the sacrificial disposition of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection from death should serve as a lesson for all genuine Christians to make restitution for a better society.

  Nwegwu used the forum to appeal to the nations, authorities, political elites and the electorate to be conscious of the dictates of rotational presidency which recognizes the need for each zone to produce the president of the country.

  To this end, he called for the support of a president of south east extraction in the fourthcoming 2023 presidential elections, maintaining that anything short of his expectation tantamounts to monumental injustice.

  On his part, a former Chairman Anambra State Chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association, Emmanuel Okechukwu (junior) lamented that Christian and Moslem leaders had failed the country in their disposition to governance.

  According to Okechukwu, injustice and bad governance have not departed from the nation’s leadership and should be nipped in the bud if the nation is to move forward.

  He regretted that their insensitivity to the plight of the citizenry had given rise to the high rate of criminality in Nigerian society, Contributing, the Deputy Director, Medical Services, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Dr. Emmanuel Umenweke cautioned the citizenry to be security conscious.

  In a similar reaction, a former Awka Zonal Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr. Johnson Ezedinachi expects that all Christians imbibe the lessons of the Easter season for a better society.
