ALL Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), yesterday, cleared 12 aspirants to contest its primaries ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

  A release issued by 2022 APGA Screening Committee disclosed that former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Prof. Peter Umeadi was cleared to vie for the party’s presidential primaries while 11 aspirants were cleared for its governorship primaries in Abia, Benue, Ebonyi, Enugu and Nassarawa States.

  Speaking on his declaration to vie for the gubernatorial election, one of the cleared aspirants for Enugu State, Frank Nweke Jr said he is in the race to sanitise the state and make it competitive.

  In another development, South West leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) have scheduled a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, APC leader, Bola Tinubu as build up to the party’s presidential primary gathers more steam.

  Others expected to attend the meeting are Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi and Senator Ibikunle Amosu, who have all declared interest to contest.

  A statement co-signed by pioneer chairman of APC, Bisi Akande and former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba said the meeting will hold  in Lagos State Government House, Marina, tomorrow.
