Nnabuife, Umeh lauded for promoting scrabble in Anambra, S’East

ANAMBRA State Scrabble Captain, Ajuluckwu Okagbue has extolled the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation ( ANPC), publisher of National Light, Ka O Di Taa and SportslightXTRA newspapers, Sir Chuka Nnabuife and  Ikemefuna Umeh, among others for their exceptional contributions towards the development of scrabble game in Anambra State and the entire South East region.

  Mr Okagbue made this known during the Anambra State/ South East Zonal Scrabble Game Tournament, which was also in the commemoration of Ikemefuna Umeh’s birthday, recently held at ANPC EventHhall.

  He further explained that “scrabble is divided into six zones and also, it’s a game i will applaud every member of Nigerian family to be part of because it’s a combination of English and mathematics, and we the scrabble players are pragmatic thinkers”.

  Speaking with our reporter, some of the scrabble players – Chinedu Thorpe, Stanley Abiakam, Igwe Jerry, expressed that scrabble game can change the social face of Anambra State, create job opportunities and stop youths from taking hard drugs which includes, mkpurumiri, Indian hemp, among others.

  At the end of the game, the 1st prize went to Mr Jerry Igwe from Enugu State, 2nd prize to Chinedu Thorpe, 3rd prize to Mr Ajuluchukwu Okagbue, 4th prize to Mr Roland Anitche Ndudim and the Best Female Prize went to Pastor Chioma Okoye.
