GOVERNOR of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has said the state will continue to contribute to Nigeria’ socio-economic and political developments.
Prof. Soludo made the promise while receiving Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, today.
Explaining that Anambra has been consistently making significant contributions to national development, Prof Soludo added that the policy is predicated on the people’s commitment and confidence in the nation’s enormous potentials to equitably cater for every component unit in the commonwealth of the federation.
According to him, his administration will not only continue along that line but even ensure that national interest enjoys strategic considerations in his administration’s economic and social policies which he listed to include urban regeneration, road and traffic management among others.
Calling for the formation of a coalition of all progressives in Nigeria, Prof. Soludo said it will help in building the country of everybody’s dream; by enhancing growth and development of Nigeria, given the current state of the nation, because there is always something important about genuine progressives.
He commended Osinbajo’s contributions to nation building in his position as Chairman of National Economic Council.
Also while speaking, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gavn assurances of sustaining existing federal government’s partnership with Anambra State on security.
Explaining that the partnership shows federal government’s high regard for Anambra State as a great asset to Nigeria, Osinbajo described Soludo as a leader and technocrat from whom federal government will continue to seek his advice on Nigeria’s economic matters.
While assuring that President Muhammadu Buhari has re-engineered his security architecture, Osinbajo expressed optimism that the new policies will soon start yielding results.
Secretary to State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu and Chief of Staff in Government House, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, among others were present at the event.
It will be recalled that Vice President Osinbajo was earlier received in Anambra International Airport by Gov. Souldo.
