Soludo urges unity, oneness among Christians

CHRISTIANS have been urged to rededicate themselves to unity, oneness and prayer in faith.

Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, made the call while addressing the congregation after an Eucharistic and Thanksgiving Service for the Third Session of the 12th Synod of Awka Anglican Diocese in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area.

According to the governor, the call becomes necessary because the body of Jesus Christ is one, and those working for Him should be in oneness of purpose.

Explaining promotion of the spirit of ecumenism in Anambra State as bedrock of holding daily prayers in Governor’s Lodge with different denominations by his administration, Governor Soludo also said the philosophy underscored his administration’s vision of one state, one people, one agenda.

This, the governor said, is also predicated on the need to create a bond that brings everyone together in the state.

Earlier, Archbishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim commended the new administration, for starting on people-friendly note by making hard-to-reach areas its focal point.

Archbishop Ibezim also congratulated ndi Anambra for the successful conduct of the November 6, 2021 Anambra State governorship election and the inauguration of the Soludo-led administration.

The synod was held under the theme: Running the Christian Race: Implications for the Believers in Perilous Time.
