Okey Okoye: Police launch manhunt for kidnappers of Anambra lawmaker

ANAMBRA State Police Command has commenced a manhunt for kidnappers of the lawmaker representing Aguata II Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye.

  The state police image maker, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who disclosed this while addressing journalists said the command has beefed up security across the state. He stated that the lawmaker’s black Toyota Sienna Minibus, in which he was traveling before the incident had been recovered.

  “The command had launched a manhunt for the kidnappers with the aim of rescuing him”. His words, “Okechukwu Okoye was kidnapped this evening, Sunday, May 15, 2022. Popularly called Okey DI Okay, Dr. Okoye, representing Aguata II Constituency in the state House of Assembly is from Isuofia.

  “He is also the House Committee Chairman on Information. It is not known if Okoye was targeted or if this was a random attack”.
