PDP intensifies search for Atiku’s running mate



…Buhari, APC govs meet

PEOPLE’S Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, said it is intensifying efforts at providing a suitable running mate for the party’s presidential candidate and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

  Explaining that the suitable candidate must come from the southern part of the country, Chairman of PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jibrin, described Atiku’s emergence as PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 election as a good omen for all Nigerians.

  According to him, Atiku’s success at the recently concluded PDP primaries has opened a good way for all Nigerians come 2023.

  “We must remember that Atiku was in 2019 elected at the PDP presidential primary in Port-Harcout, but was nakedly sabotaged by APC through an unholy way. We must also remember the good performance of Atiku as Vice-President to Olusegun Obasanjo.      He’s not a tribalist, he’s the best man for Nigeria President. We congratulated our party for playing a good role and of course all our delegates across the 36 states and the FCT,” Jibrin said.

  In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a meeting with 22 state governors of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Presidential Villa, Abuja.

  Also present are the national chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

  Although agenda is unknown but there are indications that the meeting may not be unconnected with to the party’s presidential election scheduled for he 6th of June.
