Gunmen kill policemen in Enugu community

DEPUTY Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan has dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

  Olaniyan made this known on Sunday, during a press conference in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

  He added that he remains the deputy governor of the state, adding that his defection doesn’t affect the relationship between him and Governor Seyi Makinde.

  Olaniyan, who was a governorship aspirant in AfriAfrican Democratic Congress (ADC) during the 2019 electioneering process, was picked as deputy by Governor Makinde, following the merger of the opposition parties in the state just before the governorship election.

  The deputy governor said he had no issue with Makinde, adding that anything the governor expects from him in terms of governance, he will willingly do it.

  However, Olaniyan’s defection seem to confirm the alleged strained relationship between him and his principal.
