Ma Ezekwem goes home in style

PROMINENT personalities from Anambra and beyond thronged the Umuogbune Village, Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, to pay last respect to late the late Lolo Nelly Ezekwem, whose remains were laid to rest in her husband compound.

  The late Madam Ezekwem, was until her death, a former headmistress in Chikiban Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

  The funeral ceremony was graced by colleagues from Kaduna State, showering encomiums on the late Nelly, while urging the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

  Former accountant with Nigeria National Petrolium Corporation(NNPC) and the husband to the deceased,  Mr. Murphy Nosike Ezekwem, in an interview, described his wife as a wonderful and accommodating woman.

   “It’s most unfortunate that she died at this age. She was full of life at the time she died a painful death. I pray God to give her soul eternal rest,” Mr. Ezekwem said.

He appreciated all the people that participated in making the burial a success and prayed God to bless and grant them journey mercies back to their various destinations.

  Ifeoma Ezekwem, first daughter of the deceased, said she found it hard to believe her mother’s death. “I’m proud of her. She was a mother to everyone.

  She recalled that people always have something good to talk about; people she left behind are grieving with heavy hearts. She was a person you can  depend on. She sacrificed so much for us but unfortunately, she did not stay long to reap the fruits of her labour. But then, we give God the glory for a life well spent.

  Anayochukwu Ezekwem, the late ma Ezekwem’s fourth son said his mother was a wonderful woman, who sacrificed so much for her children.
